Fashion, Gender and Muslim Identity
This session explores the intersections of fashion, gender, religion and identity among British Bangladeshi Muslim communities. We examine how dress and language become sites of cultural expression, negotiation and resistance, and how wider political forces, including the War on Terror, shape everyday practices of belonging and self-representation.
