The Abolitionist Curriculum
This session explores the possibilities of abolitionist approaches to education, questioning how colonial histories, racial hierarchies and institutional power shape what we teach and how we learn. Drawing on Christina Sharpe's In the Wake: On Blackness and Being, we consider how education might challenge dominant ways of knowing, confront the enduring legacies of racial violence and imagine more just and transformative forms of learning.
